Apple cider slushes are my new favorite food. They are the second best thing about autumn, the first being that you forget how wonderful the season is over the course of the rest of the year and are then surprised by it when it comes around again. We've taken Ellie to two orchards in the past week - Robinette's up in Michigan and Anderson's down near Mooresville - and realized that there is one more reason to go to the apple orchard in the fall (besides the cider slushes, apple picking, crisp autumn air, leaves turning colors, and the smell and taste of fresh apples) - it's the photo ops!
